Apple is set to announce a new MacBook Air at its worldwide developers’ conference organized by the company itself annually. The company is intended to ship 6 to 7 million new MacBook Airs in the second half of this year.
The new MacBook Air won’t come in a wide variety of colors. It will be available in a couple of tended colors like space grey and silver. Two new colors dark blue and Champagne-like gold can also be introduced. One can expect the new MacBook to come with a 13-inch display USB seaport back safe charging capabilities and Touch ID. The device cannot be expected to come with Touch Bar. This MacBook Air feature is not like that of the MacBook Pro. It is likely to come with an M1 processor.
What does Ming-Chi Kuo say?
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple’s analyst, Apple will be successful to do that only if one of Quanta’s production capacities returns to pre-lockdown levels. From his statements, it can be assumed that Apple is really serious about the shipment of the new MacBook Air.
Earlier the shipment of the MacBook Pro was done by Quanta only but in the case of the new MacBook Air, the sequence will be done by Quanta and Foxconn. Foxconn and Quanta are companies that manufacture electronic products for major electronic and tech companies.
China’s Zero COVID policy
The people waiting for the new MacBook Air may not be able to immediately buy one. Bloomberg Mark Gurman report says that the shutdown because of COVID-19 at Chinese plants can result in a delayed supply of new devices.
All the factories that make Apple products are temporarily closed because of China’s zero profit policy. Though China has started to relax the lockdown restrictions from March, Shanghai is still under lockdown.
